Symptom relief of upper respiratory tract disorders such as allergic rhinitis, vasomotor rhinitis, the common cold and influenza.

Composition

Each 10ml of oral solution contains:
Triprolidine HCl .0.0025g
Phenylephrine HCl 0.01g
Excipients sq. for 10ml
(Glycerine, Propylene glycol, Saccharin sodium, Methyl hydroxybenzoate, Propyl hydroxybenzoate, Sorbitol, Tutti Frutti flavour, Quinoleine Yellow, Ethanol 96%, NaOH 1N, Distilled water).

Actions

Actacridin is a combination containing Triprolidine and Phenylephrine.
– Triprolidine is an antihistamine with central sedative and antimuscarinic effects. It is used for the symptomatic relief of hypersensitivity reactions.
– Phenylephrine is a sympathomimetic agent with mainly direct effects on adrenergic receptors. It has predominantly alpha– adrenergic activity.

Contra-Indications

– Hypersensitivity to any ingredient of the medicine.
– Patients who are taking MAOI agents, patients with severe hypertension or severe coronary artery disease

Side effect

– Commonly, drowsiness. Besides, Actacridin may cause skin rash, tachycardia, dry mouth, nose and throat. Inform your doctor about side– effects when using this medicine.

Precaution

– Patients should not drive or operate machinery when using Actacridin– DM solution because this medicine may cause drowsiness.
– Use with caution in patients with severe renal or hepatic dysfunction.
– Avoid the concomitant use of alcohol or other centrally– acting sedatives because Actacridin– DM may increase effects of these drugs.
– The medicine should be used with caution in pregnancy or lactation.
– Use with caution in patients with close angle glaucoma, prostate hypertrophy, severe hyperthyroidism and cardiac ischemia.

Interaction

– Avoid combination with decongestants, tricyclic antidepressants, appetite suppressants, Amphetamine, Furazolidone; antihypertensive, sedative agents.
Inform your doctor or pharmacist about other treatments to avoid interactions.

Shelf life

24 months from the manufacturing date.

Storage

Store in a dry place, not exceeding 30^oC. Protect from light.

Dosage

– Children ≤ 12 years: 1.25 – 5ml x 3 times daily.
– Adults and children > 12 years: 10ml x 3 times daily.
