Actions

– Betamethasone dipropionate, a synthetic fluorinated Corticosteroid, has anti– inflammatory, antipruritic and vasoconstrictive actions.
– Salicylic acid is a keratolytic agent. It also has bacteriostatic and fungicidal actions.

Contra-Indications

– Hypersensitivity to any ingredient of Betacylic.
– Dermatosis in infants under 1 year old.
– Infections.
– Viral dermatosis: zona, herpes, chickenpox,…
– Betacylic is not for ophthalmic use.

Side effect

– Burning, itching, irritation, dryness, folliculitis, hypertrichosis, pyosis eruption, hypopigmentation, perioral dermatitis, allergic contact dermatitis, maceration of skin, infection, skin atrophy, striae.
– Adrenal suppression, especially in children.
– Excessive or prolonged use can suppress pituitary– adrenal function, resulting in secondary adrenal insufficiency. Treat electrolyte imbalance, if necessary and should reduce the dosage gradually.
– Inform your doctor about side effects when using this medicine.

Precaution

– Treatment on extensive surfaces, under occlusion may lead to the systemic effects, precautions should be taken.
– Pregnancy or lactation (do not apply Betacylic to areola of mammary gland when giving a baby the breast).

Interaction

Interactions may occur during prolonged use or on extensive body surface areas. These cases may cause systemic absorption.

Shelf life

24 months from the manufacturing date.
Never use after the expiry date clearly indicated on the outer packaging.

Storage

Stored in a cool, dry place. Protect from light.

Dosage

Apply to affected area twice daily.
