Indications

– Mucolytic in acute and chronic bronchopneumonia, bronchitis and tracheitis.
– Prevention of respiratory complications in patients with respiratory infections, bronchorrhea, emphysema.

(Sodium citrate, Carboxymethylcellulose sodium, Aspartame, Orange– flavored powder, Sunset yellow,Colloidal silicon dioxide, Magnesium stearate, Sucrose).

Actions

Acetylcysteine is a mucomodifier of the mucolytic type and facilitates evacuation of respiratory mucus. Acetylcysteine acts on the gel phase of the mucus by cutting disulfur bridges of glycoproteins.

Contra-Indications

– Hypersensitivity to any ingredient of the medicine.
– History of asthma.
– Children under 2 years.

Side effect

– With high dosage, there is a possibility of gastro– intestinal disorders (gastralgia, nausea, diarrhea).
If such events occur, reduce the doses.
Inform your doctor about side– effects when using this medicine.

Precaution

– Phenylketonurics should not use the drug because of Aspartame containing in it.
– It is recommended to monitor for risk of asthmatic attack if used in patients with history of drug allergic reactions.
– Caution should be exercised when using this drug for patients with decreased ability of productive. cough, peptic ulcer, drivers or operators of machinery.
PREGNANCY AND LACTATION:
Caution should be exercised when using this drug for pregnant women and nursing mothers.

Interaction

– Do not take concomitantly with antitussive agents or any other drug intended to reduce bronchial secretion during the period of treatment with MEKOMUCOSOL.
Inform your doctor or pharmacist about other drugs you are taking to avoid possible interactions.
OVERDOSAGE & MANAGEMENT:
Should overdosage occur, turn to the nearest healthcare facility for medical attention of the healthcare professionals.

– 24 months from the manufacturing date.

Storage

Store in a dry place (RH ≤ 70%), not exceeding 30^oC. Protect from light.

Dosage

– Adults and children over 7 years: 1 sachet, 3 times daily.
– Children from 2 to 7 years: 1 sachet, 2 times daily.
