Indications
Treatment of respiratory tract infections such as acute and chronic bronchitis, acute exacerbations of chronic bronchitis, tracheitis, bronchiectasis. Especially, BRONCOCEF 508 is used to facilitate the expectoration of secretions present in the trachea.

Actions
BRONCOCEF 508 is a combination of Cephalexin and Bromhexine.
– Cephalexin – a semisynthetic Cephalosporin antibiotic – has bactericidal activity.
– Bromhexine is a mucolytic agent.
Coadministration of Bromhexine with Cephalexin is beneficial in the therapy because it enhances the ventilatory capacity in elderly patients with respiratory infections and enhances antibiotic concentration in the lung tissue.
Contra-Indications
Hypersensitivity to b– lactam antibiotic group and Bromhexine.
Side effect
– Nausea, diarrhea, urticaria, headache, fatigue.
Inform your doctor about side– effects when using this medicine.
Precaution
– Pregnancy, lactation.
– Patients with gastric ulceration, impaired renal function.
Interaction
– Do not take concomitantly with any other drug intended to reduce cough and bronchial secretion during the period of treatment with BRONCOCEF 508.
– Concomitant use with Aminoglycosides, Furosemide or Etacrynic acid may cause nephrotoxicity.
– BRONCOCEF 508 may reduce the efficacy of Oestrogen– containing oral contraceptives.
Shelf life
– 36 months from the manufacturing date.
Storage
Store in a dry place (RH ≤ 70%), not exceeding 30oC. Protect from light.
Dosage
Adults and children over 12 years: 1 capsule, 3 – 4 times daily.
