Indications
CLOCATEN cream is indicated for treatment of:
– Dermatitis and skin allergies : acute and chronic eczema, contact dermatitis, atopic dermatitis, seborrhoeic dermatitis, chronic lichen planus, xerotic eczema, neurodermatitis, ichtyosis, pruritus ani, pruritus vulvae.
– Localized hair loss, dermaphytosis, superinfection dermatitis.
– Minor burns, insect bites.

Composition

(Vaselin, Liquid paraffin, Polysorbate 80, Cetostearyl alcohol, Glycerin, Propylene glycol, Sodium metabisulphite, Sodium sulphite, Disodium edetate, Purified water).
Contra-Indications
Hypersensitivity to any of ingredients of the medicine.
Side effect
– Due to Betamethasone: allergic dermatitis, urticaria, angioedema, skin atrophy.
– Due to Clotrimazole: blistering, skin irritation, allergic contact dermatitis, stinging at the affected areas.
– Due to Gentamicin: transient irritation (erythema and itch).
Discontinue the medication and inform your doctor about side– effects when using this medicine.
Precaution
– Prolonged use of CLOCATEN cream may lead to selective insensitive microorganism overgrowth.
– There is potential risk of cross allergic sensitivity among aminoglycosides.
– Systemic unwanted corticoid effects, including adrenal suppression, may incure with topical corticoid usage, especially in infants and children.
– Systemic absorption of corticoid and Gentamicin may be increased if the drug is applied into wide skin areas or the affected areas are occluded.
– Avoid use in open wound or skin lesion.
– Do not apply to the eyes.
Interaction
Magnesium, Calcium, Heparins, Sulfacetamides, Sulfafurazole, Acetylcysteine, Chloramphenicol, Actinomycin D, Doxorubicin or Clindamycin may decrease Gentamicin activity.
Inform your doctor or pharmacist about other treatments to avoid interactions.
Shelf life
24 months from the manufacturing date.
Storage
Store in a dry place (RH ≤ 70%), not exceeding 30oC. Protect from light.
Dosage
Gentle massage sufficient CLOCATEN cream into the affected skin areas twice a day, in the morning and evening. The course of the therapy is about 3 – 4 weeks.
