Indications
Mucolytic in acute or chronic inflammatory conditions of larynx, trachea, bronchi and lung, bronchiectasis, pneumoconiosis.

Actions
– Bromhexine is a synthetic derivative of the herbal active ingredient Vasicine. Preclinically, it has been shown to increase the proportion of serous bronchial secretion.
– Bromhexine enhances mucus transport by reducing mucus viscosity and by activating the ciliated epithelium (mucociliary clearance).
Contra-Indications
Hypersensitivity to any ingredient of the medicine.
Side effect
– Rare, mild gastrointestinal disorders (e.g., nausea, vomiting) have been reported.
Discontinue and inform your doctor about side– effects when using this medicine.
Precaution
– Patients being treated with DISOLVAN should be notified of an expected increase in the flow of secretions.
– Patients with history of peptic ulcer, asthma.
PREGNANCY AND LACTATION:
Caution should be exercised when the drug is given in the first trimester of pregnancy and in lactation.
Interaction
– Administration of Bromhexine together with antibiotics (Amoxicillin, Cefuroxime, Erythromycin, Doxycycline) leads to higher antibiotic concentrations in the lung tissues.
– Do not coadminister this drug with other antitussive agents (mucolytics, decongestants or expectorants).
Inform your doctor or pharmacist about other treatments to avoid interactions.
OVERDOSAGE:
Should overdosage occur, turn to the nearest healthcare facility for medical attention of the healthcare professionals.

Storage
Store in a dry place (RH ≤ 70%), not exceeding 30oC. Protect from light.
Dosage
– Adults and children over 12 years: 10ml, 3 times daily.
– Children from 6 – 12 years: 5ml, 3 times daily.
– Children from 2 – < 6 years: 2.5ml, 3 times daily.
– Children under 2 years: 1.25ml, 3 times daily.
