Formula : Calculate for 1 tube of 5 grams
   Tetracyline hydrochloride …………………………… 0.05 grams.
 Excipients ( Paraffin, lanolin, vaselin) ……………. barely 5 grams
Mechanism of action:
Tetracycline is a bacteriostatic antibiotic with broad spectrum activity through inhibition bacterial protein synthesis. Tetracycline has an effect on many bacteria that cause both Gram-negative and Gram-positive, aerobic or anaerobic. Today, the resistance of Tetracycline is wide, however Tetracycline is still sensitive to some bacterial strains and in the treatment of trachoma.
Pharmacokinetics : Tetracycline ointment in 1% form, when used directly on the eyes of the drug for local effects, the degree of absorption depends on the degree of eye conjunctival damage.
 Point:
The drug is used to treat eye infections caused by tetracycline-sensitive bacteria, cure conjunctivitis, trachoma.
 Caution:
Topical use of tetracycline is associated with increased susceptibility to bacterial resistance, so it is advisable to use the drug to limit bacterial infections caused by highly susceptible strains and trachoma. .
 Contraindications:
  Do not use the drug for people sensitive to Tetracycline, children under 12 years old.

 Apply a small amount of ointment to the affected eye. On inquiry 2-3 times
